Kristen E. Vincent
Kristen is an award-winning author, speaker, and artisan whose passion is spiritual formation and helping people learn to be. The truth is, owning a yoga studio was never on her radar. She loves yoga and has practiced it for years, and that was about it. But when someone presented the idea to her, she saw it as another opportunity to help people be, so she agreed.
While Kristen’s background, faith, and training are decidedly Christian, she believes the ways God reveals God’s self are varied and infinite. Thus, all are welcome to this fully-inclusive studio.
She is the author several books, including A Bead and a Prayer:A Beginner’s Guide to Protestant Prayer Beads, and Beads of Healing: Prayer, Trauma, and Spiritual Wholeness.
Kristen works regularly with soldiers who have PTSD to help them find spiritual wholeness, and travels internationally to lead retreats for communities affected by widespread trauma. She also loves to lead retreats and prayer bead workshops, and offer spiritual direction.
Kristen is a graduate of Duke Divinity School and The Academy for Spiritual Formation (#34). She lives with her husband, Max, a United Methodist pastor, and their son, Matthew, a budding rock guitarist. Kristen loves the mountains, gatherings on her porch, people in T-Rex costumes, and dark chocolate. She continues to make progress in her lifelong quest for the perfect chocolate mousse.
