In 1989, William took his first yoga class, and shortly thereafter, began substituting, then teaching yoga classes at his teacher’s request. After many years of regular, personal practice, William began studies at Kripalu Center in 2001, primarily with Yoganand Michael Carroll studying the therapeutic application and teaching of Tantric Hatha yoga. He also has certifications in Thai Yoga therapy, Reiki (Master level attunement) and the Rolf Method of Structural Integration, and holds a BS in Botanical Science (emphasis Mosses). From 2003-2011, William owned and operated eclectic, urban yoga studio in Atlanta, GA called Jai Shanti Yoga (which became Candler Park Yoga, and is now Be Kula: Space for Wellness). The stewardship of the studio taught him how valuable group yoga practice can be for community development by fostering self-sourced spiritual practices for the body, mind, and heart. Through his trainings and classes, William hopes to inspire students and communities to cultivate deeper relationships with Prana (aliveness), using the body as the vehicle for prayer and meditation.
